Don’t Be Emo
Monday, August 27th, 2007Before we become emotional, let me first tell you that I didn’t remove one particular person from my frienster list of friends: I removed all of them (i.e. I removed all of you). You know what I mean.
Before we become emotional, let me first tell you that I didn’t remove one particular person from my frienster list of friends: I removed all of them (i.e. I removed all of you). You know what I mean.
Preface: F**k Tim Brightside! I mean, song interpretations are supposed to be something really, really subjective, right?
P.S.: If you are this desperate, do us a favor and do what Mr. Brightside did. I’ll thank you for taking the lead. I promise to follow suit shortly after.
I’m coming out of my cage
And I’ve been doing just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss
Now I’m falling asleep
And she’s calling a cab
While he’s having a smoke
And she’s taking a drag
Now they’re going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it’s all in my head
But she’s touching his-chest
Now, he takes off her dress
Now, letting me go
And I just can’t look its killing me
And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it’s just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
‘Cause I’m Mr. Brightside
I’m coming out of my cage
And I’ve been doing just fine
Gotta gotta be down
Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss
Now I’m falling asleep
And she’s calling a cab
While he’s having a smoke
And she’s taking a drag
Now they’re going to bed
And my stomach is sick
And it’s all in my head
But she’s touching his-chest
Now, he takes off her dress
Now, letting me go
Cause I just can’t look its killing me
And taking control
Jealousy, turning saints into the sea
Swimming through sick lullabies
Choking on your alibis
But it’s just the price I pay
Destiny is calling me
Open up my eager eyes
‘Cause I’m Mr. Brightside
I never…
I never…
I never…
I never…

My last blogged poems (below) are six of nine poems collectively known as "To Mademoiselle." They all adhere to similar poetic (?) restrictions (none of which you’re going to know directly from me :). Because of these restrictions they must appear in a particular order (no, not in the order they were blogged here). The last three are still unfinished as of the moment but they will not be blogged in case they will be. I have decided to give the complete collection to Her instead of publishing it for the world to see (even if you argue that my blog isn’t that popular :P).
Sorry, for being (purposely) vague: the rest is for you to fathom and for Her to discover.
A silent longing for your kiss:
Graving the state of my lips.
Revolving around improbable bliss:
A slow and fatal tease;
My trembling bones at the sight of you
Harking to all magic, old and new
Then wishing, wishing for my repose:
Embrace my heart in it thy rose!
Recall your voices to me and you shall see
Am a good consumer of your sad world
Mine ears are made to pleasure thee
Hating all sound ‘cept those from your words.
Take my eyes, they’re yours to have
Embrace me if you seek for his love
Remember, though, that if you ask for me
Am not me, by then, I’m not me.
Meek are all the nymphs of the earth
Had they not given you their gifts
Then danced away their youth for thy birth
Expecting their beauty on your lips.
Rather, you came more than they knew
And attracted all men into you, into you
Giving less than what is received
Removing all treasures from their sleaves.
Happy is it, the smiles you throw?
The lovely blooms of a thousand roses
Entwined with careless gayness. I so
Reflect, are thy movements only poses?
Amidst thy chinkied eyes, light as they are
Gather such wrinkles from thy glances casting afar
Reliving then removing stains of unwanted tears
Anticipating all sadness one ever fears…
